We are heartbroken to announce the death of Kyomuhendo James, Kasiisi Scholar and final year medical student. James, the son of Kibale Forest Schools Program board member , Kagaba Joshua, was smart, hardworking and truly nice. Despite increasingly poor health in recent years, he managed to keep up with his class at medical school and was within months of graduating. We grieve along with his family and send them great sympathy.
In his memory we will be presenting the Kyomuhendo James Memorial Prize annually to the two scholars who best epitomize the characteristics that made James so special – both academically and personally. If you remember Joshua from his trip to Weston in 2007, or met him and James during a trip to Uganda, or if you just think that James example should be a goal for all our students, you can contribute to this prize either using the Paypal button on this website or please contact Elizabeth at email@example.com. Letters to Joshua can be sent through Emily Otali, our project director, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you for your support and thoughts during this tragic time for James’ family
