Education: Scholarship and Grants
While primary education is free in Uganda, the cost of secondary school is beyond the reach of most subsistence farming families, who make up over 75% of families in the country. Only about 12% of Ugandan children attend secondary school. Education is vitally important for the health, prosperity, stability, and future of Uganda. The Kasiisi Project provides secondary school scholarships for bright children who have financial need. How to fund a scholarship.

The Project also provides grants for financial assistance to teachers who seek to upgrade their qualifications, as well as grants for teacher bonuses and in-school and external training.

Education: Conservation
Working with the Kibale Forest Chimpanzee Project and the Jane Goodall Institute of Uganda, the Kasiisi School Building Project supports conservation education in primary schools. Widespread deforestation and over-cultivation of farmland have led to firewood shortages, diminishing production of crops, and adverse changes in weather patterns.

The well-being of both the environment and the local people depends on environmental awareness and adoption of good conservation practices.
