The Kasiisi Project Entrepreneurial Development Project (KPED) was created to help schools and their communities design and grow income-generating projects.
Participants include the Kasiisi Project Schools; they grow crops for school lunches, sell crops in the local market, run small-scale animal husbandry projects and manage tree plantations for harvesting bark for pharmaceuticals and timber.
Additionally, the Kasiisi School women’s group meets to gain literacy skills and to discuss income generating projects.
KPED assists by offering advice and by sharing experiences of other successful small-scale income generation projects. Current projects include using plastic waste to make bags for tourists and developing rabbit farming.
