How You Can Help: Donations & Crafts
We generally seek only cash donations. Material goods, while very much needed
in Uganda, are expensive, complex and slow to ship overseas and to distribute
equitably. Most donations are used for buildings and infrastructure, but an increasing
portion goes to scholarships.

Funding Secondary School Scholarships
Scholarships in support of secondary school education are the most widespread
need outside of basic school infrastructure. Very few families in Uganda can afford
to send children to secondary school, which costs from $200 per year for day school
to $450 per year for boarding school. Boarding schools are significantly more
effective because children receive reliable nutrition and more individual attention.

Funding Special Projects
Projects underway or under consideration for Kasiisi include free school
lunches; on-site housing for teaching staff to attract and keep
strong teachers and to provide security for school facilities;
special latrines for girls entering adolescence; and
repairing and extending runoff water-capture systems so that
drinking water and washing water are available to students.

Purchasing Crafts Made in Uganda
|
A limited number of exquisite crafts made by hand
in villages near Kasiisi School are available for purchase. Income from crafts can make
a crucial difference to Ugandan families and children. Net revenue from craft sales goes
directly to aid recipients in Uganda.
