Constructing private ‘girl-friendly’ latrines
The Kasiisi Project, with support from the Kasiisi Porridge Project has built private latrines for girls at five primary schools. These girl latrines have washing facilities and also have a large private barrier around them, allowing the girls to take care of feminine issues. The lack of privacy to take care of such issues used to keep girls from attending school altogether during their menstruation. The Kasiisi Project has also built sanitary latrines for boys and staff at the primary schools.
