Emily knew that she wanted to work with animals when she was nine years old! A chance meeting with Prof. Richard Wrangham led her to her beloved chimpanzees, which she studied to earn her PhD. She would have happily remained in the field studying chimpanzee behavior but the atrocities she observed the wildlife suffer at the hands of humans inspired Emily to work with forces outside of the forest. Today, Emily works in conservation education to contribute to the protection of the chimpanzees and their habitat.
